HOW TO APPLY
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides funding under a Brownfields grant for Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint Surveys, Asbestos, and Lead-Based Paint Abatements.
After contacting the Copper Corridor Blight Busters Brownfields team you will go through a process of site and grant eligibility. If eligible, you will go through an evaluation process with a member of our team.
CRITERIA
Who Can Apply:

Individuals who have not contributed to possible contamination
- You are interested in remodeling or expanding a building in the Copper Corridor
- You are interested in buying or selling a property
Criteria:

It is an underused commercial or industrial site.

It has redevelopment potential.

The site’s redevelopment potential is complicated by known or perceived contamination from a hazardous substance as defined by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA).
THE STEPS TO APPLY
Step 1: Contact the Copper Corridor Brownfields Team
Use the link on this page to complete the fillable form to start your process of being considered as a recipient of the Brownfields Grant. You can also email us directly at astaten@gilacountyaz.gov
Step 2: Receive Project Approval
After submitting your project to a member of the Copper Corridor Blight Busters Brownfields team. We will contact you directly for consideration and more information about the project. This will start the project environmental assessment work. This may take several weeks.
Step 3: Copper Corridor Brownfields Team Will Review the Results of the Assessment
We will provide you with a full report of the findings during the assessment for your records. Note that these records will also become available to the public.
